​LAMPUNG, BTN 10/10/2026 — The Indonesian Citizen Journalist Association (PPWI), a prominent national press organization, is preparing to host a global International Seminar to mark its 19th anniversary.

​This prestigious academic and journalistic gathering is themed “19 Years of PPWI: Reaffirming the Role of Citizen Journalists for Peace, Justice, and Humanity”.

​According to an official release from the PPWI National Executive Board, the grand event is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11, 2026, running from 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM WIB (UTC+7).

​The seminar will take place at the Emersia Hotel & Resort, located on Jl. Wolter Monginsidi No. 70, Pengajaran, Teluk Betung Utara, Bandar Lampung City, Lampung Province, Indonesia.

​This international symposium will feature distinguished speakers from both international and national arenas to address contemporary challenges and the role of citizen journalists in fostering global peace.

​Among the prominent international speakers is Madam Elena Semerikova from Russia, Chair of the International Women Dialogue Global Peace Movement, who will present insights on humanitarian diplomacy.

​Joining her is Dr. Ahmed Issa Ahmed Elsayed Bedir from Egypt, Advisor to the Youth and Creative Economy Board of the Arab League, sharing perspectives on media and youth empowerment.

​The lineup of international panelists also includes Prof. Mohamed Sayed Mohamed, Professor at Al-Azhar University Cairo, and Dr. Faez Mohmed Mansour Alfarjani, a senior North African journalist from Libya.

​In addition, the Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI), Prof. Dr. Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, is scheduled to deliver a keynote address on strategic media empowerment.

​Prominent Lampung academic Prof. Dr. Syarief Makhya from Lampung University (Unila) will also participate to enrich the panel discussions with scholarly perspectives.

​The event is set to be officially opened by the Governor of Lampung, representing Indonesian government officials in welcoming international and national delegates.
